    Actually.... it used to be a thing in Germany, though not in the same way. When church and feudal registers were the main ledger of who lived in a village or town, people of the same name/surname combo got numbered - so my great-great-grandfather was Karl Adam IX - until unification, when he got his personal id that didn't just rely on name and homestead.

    It's called: sparkling water not what you call it!! Half of people like " still water" the other half likes " sparkling water" . Why can't you Americans never have enough imagination that other people, living in another continent, have other common behaviour or favourites? We now have " still water" with a touch of fruit flavor, only a tiny touch of flavor, it's excellent. Moreover, normal tap water can be modified into sparkling water by those machines you nearly find in each and every household and office. I can't understand how so much people can eat "Hamburgers" or all that kind of fat and u healthy food - for us Germans: unbelievable! That's no food!,

    Even behind the wall, we grew up with Winnetou. And of course Pierre Briece is the one and only Winnetou for me. On the other hand, Americans love the movie "The sound of music" and hardly any German has ever heard of it.

    I read all Karl May's books.. Including Winnetou ..it was very popular in most of Europe, also in my country of Czechoslovakia...as kids we used to play to be "Indians" and others characters from his movies and books- that was my childhood❤

    In reality it is Apahatchi's twin brother who runs the Puder Rosa Wellness Ranch and made sure that the Apaches dug up the war folding chair( The axe was wasted). There is also the Greek Dimitri with his mule "Apollo the Thirteenth". Everything else can be found in the film "Manitu's Shoe".

    For me it's not necessarily Carbonated water but just the taste variety of bottled water. At home we have water that is rich in Calcium and old pipes that cause the water to have a slight iron taste. It's fine if your gonna mix it with something anyway, but for drinking it pure I enjoy water that is higher in Magnesium and Kalium more. People often say water is water but if that were the case things like Infused water and Tea would also still taste the same.

    As a German American (living in G) I can assure you, a lot of Germans find this bewildering😅. If it's a women's Sauna, no big deal. But a mixed sauna: nope

    I just watched a video by TanktheTech on the subject. He tells of his experience in a sauna really eloquently and he really understands how it works. Once he got used to it he saw how the locals view it and realised how skewed his American upbringing was in that regard. Well worth a watch.

    • @PassportTwo
      @PassportTwo 3 години тому

      Not “every day”, “everyday.” One word. Everyday just means it’s ordinary, Germans are used to this idea. “Every day” means someone does it daily and that definitely is not the case. Just because YOU don’t know someone in your area who does it, doesn’t mean it isn’t a part of German culture.

      @@PassportTwo Da mein Englisch scheinbar zu kompliziert ist, schreibe ich den Rest auf deutsch. Liegt dir mit Sicherheit besser. Wie gut, dass ich nicht gesagt habe, dass es *gar* nicht Teil von deutschen Kulturen sein kann. Es ist nur falsch zu behaupten, dass alle es in Deutschland tun. Genau das gleiche Problem, wie das jeder Lederhosen und Dirndl trägt oder jeder Rollmops isst oder platt sprechen kann 🙄 Wenn man schon informiert, weiß nicht, sollte man es nicht richtig tun? Da meij Englisch zu belehren leicht viel, sollte der Rest ja auch flutschen.

    I even had a pyjama with Winnetou & Old Shatterhand printed on it (black on yellow); and a (allmost) life-sized poster on my wall. The movies were also were sort of a pan-european enterprise: german-italian-coproductions filmed mostly in yugoslavia with the main character played by a frenchman...

    I remember my Finnish teacher explaining to us that in Finland it's not uncommon to wear a swimsuit to the sauna, especially when men and women share the sauna. She was a bit shocked when she went to a public sauna in Germany for the first time and was told that she couldn't use the sauna unless she took her swimsuit off 🫣 No one is as purist as the Germans 😅

    • @hansopel782
      @hansopel782 10 хвилин тому

      My Finnish experiences are way different. Usually it is fully naked, but only same gender in the Sauna, or couples. So, typically: First the males or females of a group, and then the other gender. But most important:No Rush. Sauna is pure relaxion. And a special thing, especially for Germans, could be, to make and eat "Sauna Sausage". Yes, that is sausage, "cooked" in Sauna while you are sweating there😅

    I loved going to the sauna with my family as a child. I'm quite sure having seen so many naked bodies of people of all ages and sizes and sexes growing up has given me a very relaxed view on beauty standards and body shape. Would like to mention I was never forced to go, I liked going until I turned around 10 and then until I turned 15 I stopped going. Then I started again.
